WMP 9 tips
Sometimes, when playing a video, the picture is too dark. Generally, this is because people have their desktop toned down a bit to reduce eye strain when working for long periods. Physically adjusting your monitor is usually a pain so the solution is to have Windows Media Player display Video Settings on start-up.
To do this wave your mouse above the Player window until the taskbar appears. Select 'View' - 'Enhancements' and select 'Show Enhancements'. Then return there again and you'll find a new menu at the bottom of which is 'Video Settings'. Select it.
Now when you start the Player you can just add a little brightness or whatever with a simple mouse click. When you're done double clicking in the picture will pop you into full screen. Double clicking again will pop you back to a smaller screen and Video Settings.
